Privacy Policy

OpenDays OS (opendays.app) is operated by Bay View Eye Care, LLC, Miami, Florida. Last updated: October 13, 2026.

What we collect

Account details you give us (name, email, phone, license and availability for optometrists; practice, store and pay-run details for employers), and, if you sign in with Google, your name, email and Google account ID.

Google Calendar data

If an employer chooses "Connect Google Calendar", Open Days requests read-only access to the calendar list and calendar events of that Google account. We use it only to show that employer's schedule by store and doctor and to find days that need coverage. Open Days never creates, edits or deletes calendars or events. The employer chooses which calendars are linked; others are ignored. Calendar event data is processed in the employer's browser and kept only on that device to display the schedule; we store only the calendar-to-doctor/store mappings the employer saves. You can disconnect at any time in Schedule → Connected calendars, which revokes our access, or at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Limited Use disclosure

Open Days' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide the feature you asked for, comply with law, or as part of a merger with notice, and no humans read it unless you ask us to for support, it is needed for security or legal reasons, or it is aggregated and anonymized. Google user data is not used to train AI or machine-learning models.

No patient information

Open Days is a scheduling and pay tool. It is not for protected health information (PHI). Do not put patient names or health details in calendars you connect or in any field of the app. Patient check-in: if a practice turns on check-in, patients' check-in details (such as name and reason for visit) are saved only in that practice's own Google Workspace account, in a sheet the practice owns. OpenDays OS does not store or see that information. We keep only counts and statuses, such as how many check-ins were saved. Each practice is responsible for having a Google Workspace account with Google's HIPAA Business Associate Agreement accepted, for keeping its sheet private, and for its own patient privacy notices.

How we use and share data

To match fill-in days with optometrists, run schedules and pay statements, and operate the service. We do not sell personal data. We use service providers (for example Netlify for hosting and Google for sign-in and storage) who process data on our behalf.

Retention and deletion

We keep account data while your account is active. Email us to delete your account and the data we hold; disconnecting Google removes saved calendar mappings.

Security

Data is sent over HTTPS. Google access tokens are held in browser memory only and are not stored on our servers.

Children

Open Days is for businesses and licensed professionals. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you by emailing us. We will respond within 30 days. If we ever have a security breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you as required by law.

Changes

We will post updates here with a new date and tell you in the app before material changes take effect.
